Recovery-Oriented Employment Services (ROES) Program

    Who is eligible for ROES?
  • Men and Women 18 years of age and older who are currently participating in substance abuse treatment (detoxification not included).
  • The ROES program operates in the North Central and Eastern regions of Connecticut.
  • Individuals who desire to assess their readiness and options for employment or education.
    What services are provided?
  • An initial, one-on-one meeting with an ADRC employment specialist to discuss interests, strengths and talents.
  • Completion of a vocational assessment including:
    • employment, training and educational history;
    • current ability and motivation to engage in job search or educational efforts;
    • individual issues such as medical conditions, literacy, vision and others which may influence the identification of best-fit plans.
  • Development of a service plan.
  • Referrals to the appropriate external employment and educational resources.
  • Ongoing in-person and phone contact with the recovery specialist.
  • A weekly vocational education and support group, held at the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) community centers in Hartford, Willimantic and Waterford.
    What is required of ROES participants?
  • Completion of the vocational assessment to initiate participation.
  • As appropriate, participation in CCAR Telephone Recovery Support and weekly education and support group sessions.
  • Reliable follow through on the mutually agreed employment or educational action steps.
  • Agreement to coordinate information with the current substance abuse treatment provider.
