While the primary service we provide here at OPCC is the assessment and treatment of substance abuse disorders, we also provide education, assessment, and referrals in a variety of other areas, such as where and how to obtain primary medical care, gambling disorders, and smoking cessation services. Our primary treatment modality is group interaction; you must be able to participate in a group environment physically, verbally, and emotionally. If we have any concerns about this at the time of your intake or during treatment, we will always discuss this with you and, if needed, we will do everything we can to find a program that meets your specific needs. What kinds of life issues are covered in the OPCC programs? We cover a series of topics in our groups, at all different levels of intensity based on where you are in your recovery. While you may not have heard of them yet, we can assure you that by the time you complete treatment, you will understand these key recovery concepts. Some of them include:
- Mutual Support Involvement /12- step
- The scientific basis of addictive illness
- Mental Health
- Spirituality
- Life Skills & Self Care
- Relapse Prevention skills
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy -
- Focuses on the connections among beliefs, thoughts and actions.
- Motivational Enhancement Therapy -
- Focuses on looking at your readiness to make life changes.
- Focuses specifically to provide safety for those struggling with a history of trauma and substance abuse.
- Helping Women In Recovery -
- Focuses on helping women cope with recovery issues: self esteem, sexism, family of origin, relationships, interpersonal such as violence, sexuality and abuse, and meditation/relaxation.
