Mission

ADRC's Clayton House is a residential treatment program in Glastonbury, Connecticut for men and women seeking recovery from chemical dependency. The program is dedicated to providing quality recovery services with the intent of returning our clients to fully independent living.

Our mission is to provide therapy, foster communication and develop employment skills in order to better connect our clients to the larger system of support that exists within the 12 step fellowships.

    Who is Eligible?
  • Men and woman 18 years of age or older with a primary diagnosis of alcohol or other substance dependence.
  • Persons free from drugs of abuse and/or alcohol for at least 30 days.
  • Those who have had a physical in the last 30 days and been found to be free of communicable diseases.
  • Individuals who are physically, emotionally and psychologically capable of holding a fulltime job.
  • Men and women with a willingness to immerse themselves in the traditions of 12 step fellowships.
    What services are provided?
  • A three to six month supportive residential stay in a beautiful home in a suburban, nurturing setting with 24 hour supervision.
  • Group [including many multi-session, topic specific groups], family and individual counseling.
  • Relapse prevention, trauma and life skills training provided by licensed or certified substance abuse counselors.
  • When referred, you may see a psychiatrist for evaluation and/or medication management.
  • Random drug screens.
  • Active 12 step facilitation and peer networking.
  • Methadone related services in conjunction with the Hartford Dispensary.
  • Help with entitlement redetermination.
  • Assistance with legal issues that are substance abuse related.
  • Budgeting, savings and banking support.
    Clients who complete Clayton House should come away with:
  • Enhanced relapse prevention techniques, greater life skills and a working knowledge of the Seeking Safety trauma model.
  • A lasting association with the Clayton House and its network of alumni.
  • A positive employment history with stronger job seeking and maintenance skills.
  • An extensive recovery support network, a sponsor, and a deeper understanding of the 12 step traditions of Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous.
  • A referral for medication and/or psychiatric services.
  • A savings account and a greater ability to manage one's finances.
  • Options for sober living after completing Clayton House.

(ADRC) is a private non-profit corporation located in Hartford, Connecticut, providing high quality substance abuse treatment and recovery-supportive services. We operate a number of facilities, offering a wide range of services to help our clients achieve and maintain a life free of the destructive effects of chemical dependency.
